EPOXIES Epoxidised soybean oil is used as a secondary plasticiser for plastics, specially PVC, in combination with phthalate esters (such as DOP). The epoxidised soybean oil improves the stability to heat and light and thus prevents the plastic from becoming brittle, extending useful life. Most plastic formulations contain about 3 % of epoxidised oil.
