Lecithin is reported to be an active agent in mosquito control. The stable film on the water surface might interfere with the breathing mechanism of the mosquito puppae. Lecithin has also been used as an emulsifier for various pesticide formulations, as it improves adhesion and penetration. It has been reported that the phytotoxic effect of a pesticide formulation was eliminated using lecithin as an additive.
