SEED Soybean seed production developed into a special agricultural business. Extreme care is now given to seed, in order to guarantee optimum sprouting characteristics and to avoid presence of foreign seeds and more so, weed-seeds. Different varieties adapted to specific geographical zones are available to farmers. Biotechnology will in the near future also provide special seed for soybean crops with improved agronomical characteristics (herbicide resistant) or with a specific composition for specific applications (soybeans generating low linolenic soybean oil, high methionine soybean meal, etc.)
